Theo- $17,500
This gelding is my personal favorite in the barn. He’s always on my string unless I “have” to share.
Only One Hoo Got It. Aka. Theo. He is a 7-year-old APHA gelding that stands 17 hands. But if that’s too tall for you I’d be happy to tell you he’s only 16.2 and we can all just pretend.
Theo is exceptionally well bred and well trained. He did not make the cut to be a high-end western pleasure horse, as his owners intended for him, but he would LOVE to be your trail horse, ranch horse, hunter under saddle, hunter/jumper, best friend and jack of all trades type!
Theo hauls out to new places and settles in like an old pro. Take him to a show, bop around in a friend or trainer’s arena, or take him out to trail ride and explore new sights! He takes it all in stride and has fun while he is at it.
This fancy gelding is the best eye catcher around. People walk in the barn and they are always drawn to him. When I haul him to new places, I am always approached and asked about him. He is sweet, personable, and cuddly without being rude or in your space. Theo has excellent ground manners and loads in a trailer and backs out. He stands tied all day. He’s a saint for the farrier and is currently shod on the front (I shoe all of my horses with at least fronts and often all the way around).
When we have left the property to haul out, he has been exposed to many different things and had not offered any kind of concern or spook at all. He has seen pigs, deer, jumps, exotics, dogs leaping across streams and splashing in water with him and ridden by multiple levels of riders and enjoyed by all.
Don’t be daunted by the fact that Theo is grey. He is tidy and easy to keep clean! He does not seek to lay in the dirty spots and brushes right out easily. Theo gets along with other horses and has been turned out alone and with other geldings. He is easy to catch. And he has excellent stall manners.
I really can’t say enough good things about this horse. I can’t wait for someone else to experience how wonderful he is, but I will miss having my favorite ride in the barn!
