Meet River, a striking 12-year-old Gypsy cross gelding, registered with Equines of America, standing a sturdy 14.1 hands. Compact but perfectly proportioned, River carries riders of all sizes with ease—yes, even 6-foot riders look right at home on him!
River is the ultimate all-around partner. From the rugged Appalachian Mountains to city streets, parades, and every trail in between, nothing fazes him. Bridges, stairs, livestock encounters—even deer, turkeys, and the occasional bear—River stays calm, confident, and curious. At the farm, he’s completely at ease around pigs, llamas, chickens, sheep, cattle, and even a zedonk!
River moves beautifully and would make a delightful western dressage mount. He’s started over cross rails, enjoys jumping, and is gentle enough for beginners or children—perfect for lesson programs. His soft neck rein and one-handed walk and trot make riding effortless. At the canter, experienced riders can maintain a one-handed seat when keeping him between the legs.
River is friendly, personable, and easy-going. He enjoys attention, comes willingly from the pasture, and is well-mannered, and free of stall vices. An easy keeper, he maintains condition on hay alone and gets along with all other horses.
