Major - $10,500
14-year-old gelding registered with the Equines of America. Rides English and western. Loves the trails.
Major stands 16 hands. He keeps well in a stall or out on pasture with others. He has lived in a mixed herd as well. He's easy to catch, likes people, and has a LOT of personality.
Major LOVES to trail ride. He'll cross water and mud. Go through ditches and over logs. He'll ride through a group of cattle and has checked fences. He's even been exposed to deer, pigs, sheep and even a llama. He will ride alone or with others and he is not a spooky horse.
He rides on or off property. Hauls to other arenas without much fuss. Ties well. Loads and backs out of a trailer. And he is easy for the farrier and vet.
Major also rides English. He is happy with a snaffle and light contact for English riders and he really enjoys jumping. In our program, we do not jump over 2'3 but he shows plenty of ability to do more. He has a simple change.
For western riders, Major is broke enough to go in a correctional bit and ride on a loose rein. He has a lovely jog and a nice extended ranch trot. His canter can be a little forward at first, but even with a loose rein, he settles into it and will not run off on you.
Major has a scar on his right hind leg. It is old and does not bother him. We have x-rays of it a soundness report, and clean x-rays of his back.
