We’re starting off the New Year with my absolute favorite mare in the barn!
Karsyn’s Badger (Rose) is an 8 year old AQHA mare. She stands 15.1 hands and is one of the best horses in the barn to ride.
Rose has had a cutter foundation and is handy with a little feel. She is also the forgiving type, so she won’t be too feely for a beginner or less experienced rider. She has been trained on a flag, she will track a cow, swing a rope, and she can cover long miles out on the pasture and range.
Rose has the most enjoyable ground covering sitting jog and long trot I have ridden in quite some time. She travels on a long, loose rein, and you don’t have to worry yourself with her running off. She has not spooked one time while she has been in our barn, and we have exposed her to a lot; from exotic deer, to bald eagles flying from nests, water, cattle, dogs and more.
Rose has been owned by an amateur family and she was the go to horse for friends, kids of friends, or anyone that just needed a safe horse to bop around on. She has even been ridden English and is quite talented over a cross rail and low jump. She would be a phenomenal lesson horse or low level cross country or eventer should her new owner wish to take her that way.
In my barn, Rose gets fought over because everyone wants to ride her. Trail riding or arena work, she always comes to the party with a ready to please attitude and has the training and full body softness to be an absolutely fun horse to ride regardless of what you want to try your hand at.
I would be confident for Rose to go to a beginner family, child, or lesson program. She has never offered to put a foot wrong and I would keep her for myself if I could!
