Rodeo Day money - $15,000

13-year-old AQHA gelding. Bear stands 15.1 hands and is a barn favorite. He has experience day working, ponying colts to start, riding English and jumping, running the barrel pattern, and carrying himself on a loose rein for ranch classes.

Bear is built like one should be with papers that go back to original quarter horse breeding and Poco. He excels with a job to put his brain to, and he is excited and happy to see his people. He has spent time out west and can not only put in the miles on a ranch but can double as a pack horse.

Bear is great on the trail. He is not the spooky type and will go anywhere you point him: through water, over logs, into mud and more. He does prefer to be in or near the front and can be a bit jiggy if you are out with a group and try to keep him at the back. We have sheep, llamas, goats, chickens, cattle, and many dogs; as well as living next to a high fence. Bear has seen many types of animals and wildlife and not much will cause him concern.

Bear has the sweetest little baby jog and will carry himself around with his nose in the dirt. It is comfortable to sit; he goes around on a drape rein and will move off into a nice low-headed lope when asked. He is also well started on the barrel pattern and has been hauled to exhibition and a couple of smaller local races. He is very consistent and ready to be asked for more speed. He shows potential to be a consistent 3D horse.

For the English riders, Bear is willing to take contact and collect. He could carry himself nicely for low level dressage, but he loves the work that the hunters and going over jumps gives him. He is straight and correct to a jump and he has a flying lead change.

Bear has been loved by the same owners for the last several years. They are sad to see him go, but do not want him to waste all of his talent in their pasture and can't wait for him to meet his new family that will be sure to fall in love with him!
