We’re bringing you a super cute and fancy 5-year-old draft cross gelding. Angus stands 15.3 hands and is an easy natured, gentle for anyone ride.
Angus is a very sweet gelding that has the best soggy trot and would excel in ranch classes or western dressage. He is naturally low headed and travels with an open freedom to his movement. He is correct and uphill in his canter, but he is more woah than go and can take some prodding to stay in the canter. In the arena, he is safe for any level of rider and complete beginners can sit on him. The worst he will offer to do is try to hang out with other horses/people or at the gate.
In our program he has also been ridden English and goes over cross rails. He would make an excellent walk/trot lesson asset. He is flashy enough and a nice enough mover to bring home ribbons in the flat classes. He hauls out to new arenas and rides well.
At our farm, he is exposed to dogs, pigs, cattle, and a llama. He has adjusted and taken all in stride. We have hauled him out and ridden him through running water, ponds, ditches, over fallen trees, and in open fields. He enjoys trail riding and loves water. He may try to roll on you in a large body of water. Angus has not had a lot of trail miles yet and can sometimes be a little looky or on edge, but he has not spooked on us in quite some time. I would still recommend an intermediate rider for outside riding until he has more miles.
Angus is located in Athens, Tx and has X-rays on file for your convenience.
